This is the documentation for the second mission of Operation: Fallen Sparrow, Mission Code Name: Cold Ax. Note, none of the operational maps have been included as they were maps of the Athens Georgia Airsoft field. While the scenario itself could easily adapted to another field, the maps would be useless.
Scenario Set-up:
· Each team will have one HQOC to act as the command element for the team they are handling.
Each HQOC will receive their own information sheet to assist them in playing the role of the team’s command element.
Each O.C. will of course need at least one radio to communicate with the team and the field O.C.s if necessary.
· Each team will have an FOC assigned to remain in the general vicinity of the team.
These O.C.s will be present to handle any on-the-spot judgment calls that need to be made and to deal with any observation of mission objectives that may be required for a particular mission.
Teams:
Glass Fox Units:
The U.S. forces will have one medic for every five team members that they have. One player with a radio will be designated as the team RTO (Radio Telephone Operator).
Two players will be designated as demolition experts.
Ukrainian Units:
One player with a radio will be designated as the team RTO (Radio Telephone Operator).
The Ukraine forces will have one medic for every ten team members that they have.
Two players will be designated as electronic experts on the team.
Placement:
Glass Fox Units: Glass fox will be walked to the small town as their starting point first.
Ukrainian Units: Ukrainian forces will be walked to the firebase as their starting point last.
Note: It would be good if the teams can be placed without being seen by the other team.
Scenario Play:
· The Ukraine team must secure and repair the communications relay station. The Ukraine team F.O.C. and team electronics experts will have the specifics on what the team must accomplish.
Once the station is restored to an operational status, the team will be ordered to maintain security at the station and establish patrols in the area for rebel activity.
· The Glass Fox team must infiltrate or over run the communications relay station and plant their demolition charges. Their primary objective is to destroy the satellite antenna but they will get extra points for blowing additional targets at the objective. The demolition experts and F.O.C. will have the detailed information on what their targets are to be.
· The scenario will end when all of the Glass Fox members have been captured/killed or extracted from the area of operations.
Special Rules:
· The U.S. team will use medic rules with each soldier being able to be revived a maximum of two times. On the third hit the player is eliminated from the game.
· The Ukraine teams will also have medics but each soldier will only be able to be revived once before having to go to the re-spawn point and re-spawn during the re-spawn cycle.
· Re-spawns for the Ukraine forces will occur every 10 minutes after the start of the game.
· One FOC must be at the Ukraine spawn to time the re-spawns correctly. (This will simulate small squads of reinforcements being called into the area.) The re-spawn point for the Ukraine forces will be ____________.
· Glass Fox members/Resistance fighters captured by the Ukrainians must be taken to AO Mexico and be evacuated for interrogation.
· When Glass Fox members are captured and evacuated or are eliminated (killed) then they have the option of going back to the staging area and re-spawning into the game as resistance fighters. When re-spawning the resistance fighter may only have two hi-cap magazines worth of ammunition for their primary weapon, no radio equipment and they must also be wearing a noticeable piece of civilian clothing. This could be a hat, coat, blue jeans etc.
Resistance fighters have no medics and may not re-spawn again. When a resistance fighter is captured or killed then they are eliminated from that scenario.
· Anyone caught within arms reach of an explosive charge when it goes off is dead, beyond revival…head to the re-spawn.
Anyone outside of arms reach but within the blast radius of an explosive charge (marked by ribbon or paint) will be down and require a medic to be revived.

Demolitions Expert Briefing
Demolitions Expert
You are the demolitions experts on the team. As such, it will be your job to place the charges to destroy the targets at the objective.
You have been provided with a satchel charge and several smaller demolition charges.
The satchel charge must be placed under the main satellite antenna as your main objective.
You may place the additional charges on the generator, on any other antennas and in the main bunker to gain additional damage to the communications relay station.
Once the satchel charge is in place and you are ready to start the countdown, set the amount of time on the timer that you wish and hit the start button. The clock will begin to count down to detonation. When the alarm goes off, the charge has detonated.
The smaller charges are compound-4 plastic explosive blocks. You have one timer-detonator for each that will set off the charges when the countdown on the timer reaches “0000”. You must install the detonators by inserting the blasting cap portion into the pre-punched blasting cap well. You will then set the amount of time on the timer that you wish and hit the start button. The clock will begin to count down to detonation. When the alarm goes off, the charge has detonated.
Each charge has double-sided tape adhesive for placement on surfaces. Simply peel the backing from the tape and stick the charge to the object desired.
You will see some ribbon tied to trees that will show you the lethal range of the explosives. If anyone is within this range when the satchel charge and other charges blow, they will be killed.
As the field operation controller for the Glass Fox team it will be imperative that you are at the communications relay station when the charges are being planted and until they detonate.
The blast radius of the charges will be marked with either ribbon or paint and when the charges “detonate” anyone that is within arms reach of one of the charges is dead, dead, dead.
If they are within the radius of the blast but outside of arms reach then they are down but may be revived by a medic if available.
Each charge is equipped with a timer that counts down to an alarm. This alarm signifies the explosive detonating so you must listen carefully for the alarms.

Ukrainian Electronics Expert Briefing
You are one of the demolitions experts on your team. As such, you or your partner is carrying the electronics tool kit that will be very important to accomplishing your team’s mission/s.
Once your team has secured the communications relay station it will be your job to get it up and running again. You will do this by accomplishing the following tasks:
· Repair all severed cables
Each of the severed cables will be tagged with either a number or a math equation. The math equations must be solved to find the matching tag with the answer on it. Those cables must be taped back together. You may use the calculator in the tool kit to work out the mathematical equations.
(This is to simulate matching correct voltage and amperage cables with one another.)
· Rewire junction box in the correct locations.
(This system is still being worked out. Briefing on this will be given at last minute.)
· Generator must be restarted.
The individual that is trying to restart the generator must tell the F.O.C. he is trying to start the generator. The F.O.C. will tell the individual if the generator has started. If the generator does not start, the individual must wait at least 10 seconds to try again. They may wait longer than 10 seconds if they wish.
Once all of the above is completed the team will contact their headquarters and receive additional instructions on what they are to do.
Ukraine Team FOC Information
Your role as the FOC during this mission is very important. When the team arrives at the station there will be several tasks that they will have to accomplish that you will have to confirm have been done in order for the team to score their points.
The tasks that the team will have to accomplish are listed here with the criteria that you must insure they meet for each one:
· Repair all severed cables
Each of the severed cables will be tagged with either a number or a math equation. The math equations must be solved to find the matching tag with the answer on it. Those cables must be taped back together.
· The cables/wires must be plugged into the junction box in the correct locations.
(This system is still being worked out.)
· Generator must be restarted.
The individual that is trying to restart the generator must tell you he is trying to start the generator. At that moment, you look at your watch and if the seconds readout ends in a 1,3,6, or 9 then the generator has started. If the generator does not start, the individual must wait at least 10 seconds to try again. They may wait longer than 10 seconds if they wish.
Once all of the above is completed the team will contact their headquarters and receive additional instructions on what they are to do.
