OPERATION: TEMPEST FURY
BACKGROUND
SITUATION
Forty eight hours ago a rogue Russian general and his regiment rebelled and forcibly took control of an intermediate range ballistic missile silo complex near the Belarus border, due west of the Russian town of Kletnya.
The complex consists of 24 remote silos and a control bunker. Each silo houses one 9M76B (SS-22U Scaleboard Mod 3A) (See attachment A.) intermediate range ballistic missile that in all probability is carrying a nuclear payload.
These missiles could directly strike at any of the European NATO nations, delivering its nuclear payload and possibly causing a "chain reaction" nuclear exchange to occur globally.
A.
General Yorgi Kalikov and the majority of his unit, the 27th Guards Missile Army, 54th Guards Missile Division, 544th Guards Missile Regiment took control of the missile complex at approximately 1400L 28 April 2010. Six hours later an ultimatum was issued by General Kalikov (See attachment B.) stating that unless the Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, stepped down from power to be replaced by someone who can take a more hard-line response to the U.S. attempts to base a missile defense system in European Nato nations, specifically Poland he will launch all 24 missiles at their respective NATO targets. A deadline of 72 hours was given.
Intelligence believes that General Kalikov will carry out his threat if his demands are not met. His regiment is very loyal to him and it is expected that they will defend him to the death. The unit is well trained, well armed and poses a major threat. Troop strength of the 544th GMR is difficult to estimate at this time as it is unclear how many troops may not have taken part in the revolt and how many troops may have been lost during the revolt. Expect numerous patrols and probable quick reaction forces to be deployed if a compromise occurs.
The Russian government seems to be doing everything in its power to keep the information about this crisis from becoming public knowledge. More than likely this is because the missiles that are currently deployed in the silos of the complex are in direct violation of the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty, last signed in 1994.
Communications intercept and analysis indicates that twelve hours ago the Russian government sent in a spetznaz (Special Forces) team to recapture the command bunker. The mission failed with the spetznaz team members being either killed or captured.
B.
Currently unsure of General Kalikov's intentions and mental stability, NATO
has decided to enact contingency plan 713A4-01, codenamed Operation: Tempest
Fury. Several combined NATO Special Forces teams will infiltrate Russian airspace
using B-2 bombers modified to carry airborne troops by removing their bomb
racks (Project Infiltrator). Each aircraft will carry two teams, each team
will be responsible for destroying three missiles within their silos using
the M-322 demolition charges (See attachment "C".) issued to each
team.
STATEMENT BY GENERAL YORGI KALIKOV
Transcription of intercepted radio broadcast within Russia:
Fellow Russians!
I, General Yorgi Kalikov, speak on behalf of the people when I say to you that we are facing a critical global crisis.
The United States, once a great bastion of freedom and
democracy, has become little more than an armed and belligerent bully, one
that no longer follows the basic principles of international law.
Just as U.S. President Roosevelt once feared, Fascism came to the United States
wrapped in an American flag. Having stripped its own citizens of most of their
rights and built the largest military force in the world, it now takes global
unilateral action as it sees fit, a rogue elephant gone mad with power and
lust for energy, a nation on a perpetual war footing fighting what it claims
is "an endless war."
The entire world is decisively of the opinion that the United States of America is the greatest threat to world peace. For years now it has manipulated, assassinated, extorted, threatened, seized, and invaded without cause or compunction. Claiming to be the sole remaining superpower, reactionary Machiavellianism rules, and it has since withdrawn from peace and weapons proliferation treaties and conventions, ignores the World Court and UN, makes war when and where it desires in clear opposition to world opinion and international law, and now seeks to put weapons both in space and practically on our borders. It is itself, a rogue nation. Under the rules set forth at Nuremberg, the U.S.'s leaders would be convicted as war criminals.
A new arms race is now underway, and this time America
has demonstrated no restrain, logic, common sense, or control. We dismantle
our weapons in compliance with international treaty while the United States
abrogates those treaties and builds new ones. Former U.S. Deputy Secretary
of Defense Paul Wolfowitz has admitted that the U.S. nuclear deterrence is,
in fact, really based almost exclusively on an offensive, nuclear first strike
policy, and just as soon as they can develop an effective strategic missile
defense system, they will, in fact, be free to do as they please without fear
of recourse.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the deliberate impoverishment of
mother Russia leaving the United States as the world's "only superpower"
or "hyperpower," we are approaching a point where only the United
States has the capability to launch an offensive first-strike strategic nuclear
weapons attack upon anyone they so choose. For that precise reason, deploying
this so-called "national missile defense" (NMD) has become a critical
objective of the criminal United States government. NMD is not really needed
to shoot down a stray missile from some so-called "rogue state."
Rather, U.S. NMD is essential for mopping-up any residual Russian or Chinese
strategic nuclear weapons that might survive a U.S. offensive first-strike
with strategic nuclear weapons systems.
The successful deployment of NMD will finally provide the United States what it has always sought: the capacity to launch a successful offensive first-strike strategic nuclear attack, coupled with the capability to neutralize a Russian and/or Chinese retaliatory nuclear attack. At that point, the United States will proceed to use this capability to enforce its hegemonial will upon the rest of the world. Strategic nuclear thinkers such as Harvard's Thomas Schelling call this doctrine "compellance" as opposed to "deterrence." With NMD in place the world will become dominated by this U.S. "compellance" strategy.
Even now, they are boxing us in, closing in for the kill. The United States is placing these missiles in Poland and the Czech Republic, virtually on our border. Here you can clearly see the hypocrisy in even calling it a "national missile defense." The noose is tightening around our very necks. Will we stand idly by while yet another Hitler prepares an attack? An attack that this time will come with nuclear weapons?
The people of Russia are tired of the weakness of our great nation's government in the face of blatant expansionism and military threat on the part of the United States. The corruption and incompetence of the administration of the cowardly Dmitry Medvedev, in the face of naked and unchecked aggression by the United States and her NATO puppets cannot go unanswered. The time to stand firm is at hand, while we are still able to. The world will rally behind Russia, for it has little choice unless it also wishes to be victimized.
The 27th Guards Missile Army, 54th Guards Missile Division, 544th Guards Missile Regiment, have taken control of a missile silo complex consisting of 24 silos, each carrying one 9M76B IRBM missile equipped with nuclear warheads. These men and women are with me voluntarily, true patriots of Mother Russia. If President Dmitry Medvedev is not replaced by a strong, capable, and loyal leader within 72 hours, one who will stand firm against this naked aggression, I shall have no choice but to order the launch of these missiles at NATO military targets in Europe. No doubt this will probably trigger a US-led NATO response, but if we are to wait much longer, it will already be too late. Better to die fighting than to live in chains.
For the Motherland!
-General Yorgi Kalikov
